"and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often."Mary Oliver
April 11, 2019
I have to say this is my mantra of the day, today or any day, I hope.
There are days where we can't see the light and we squint our eyes to face the morning light with all its glory,
maybe mostly because we focus on the small grey areas in our mind, thoughts that shoot in from of our eyes and shadow for a moment our actual vision, of this Glorious bight light ahead of us, the new morning light..
so am eager to share this with you to do,
to " never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
this foto I took has the bright daylight in Agios Sostis beach, Myconos in July,
silver lining on the water ahead and so bright you can not turn your head up to face the Sun,..
the original poem is here:
WHEN I AM AMONG TREES by Mary Oliver
When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks, and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It’s simple,”
they say, “and you, too, have come
into the world to do this, to go easy,
to be filled with light, and to shine.”
